Privacy policy
PAGEAWAY is run by Erez Gross, a registered business in Israel. This page explains briefly what information we collect, why, and what you can ask for.
What we collect
- Trip details: destinations (country, city and number of nights), dates, who is travelling, what you like, the magazine language, and any notes you choose to write.
- Dietary needs, if you choose to tell us. There's no need to give medical information, and we ask you not to send any.
- Contact details: email, and a mobile number if you choose to give one.
- If it's a gift: the recipient's first name and your dedication.
- How you heard about us, if you choose to answer.
We never receive your card details on this site. Card payments are handled by the payment provider through the secure link we email you, under that provider's terms.
Why we need it
- To prepare your personal magazine and send it to you.
- To email you the payment link and a receipt, as the law requires of a registered business.
- To ask you a short feedback question after you receive your magazine.
- To contact you with questions about the trip and updates on your order.
We won't use your information for marketing emails unless you ask. We don't sell it and don't pass it to anyone for their own purposes.
Where it is stored
The site and order form run on Cloudflare; order records are currently stored with Netlify (Netlify Blobs). Orders may also be kept in a private tracking sheet. Your magazine is sent as a private link that isn't published or indexed by search engines. Phone numbers and medical information never appear in it.
Place suggestions (Google Maps Platform)
When you type a place name in the form, the text you typed goes to our server (Cloudflare) and from there to Google Places (Google Maps Platform) to suggest cities, villages, regions and islands. When you pick a suggestion, the place ID is also sent to get its location and country. Only the place text and a temporary random session ID (for Google billing) are sent, with no other personal details. The request leaves from our server, so Google doesn't get your IP address. We don't store what you typed, other than the destination you submit with your order. Google processes requests under the Google privacy policy.
"Use my location" (in "I'm already there" mode): only if you tap it and allow it in your browser, your approximate location is sent through our server to the Google Maps Platform Geocoding service to find the place name, and saved with your order (latitude and longitude) so we can write a magazine for where you are. If you don't allow it, nothing is sent.
Anonymous measurement
- Referral code: if you arrived from a link with
?ref=(for example a share link inside a magazine), the code is kept in your browser (localStorage) and attached to your order, so we know which share brought it. - Visit and share counts: we count page visits and share-button clicks by referral code only: event type, referral code, page and share method. No name, IP, browser details or personal identifier is stored. To avoid counting you twice, your browser keeps an "already counted today" flag in localStorage.
- Inside the magazine: opening it counts one open per visit, plus one more if you scroll past 60%. Only its code and the date are stored — no cookies, no IP, no browser fingerprint. The feedback card at the end (rating, price and what was missing) is stored by its code only; any email or phone number you type in it is removed automatically before saving.
- The site uses no cookies at all, including no advertising cookies. You can clear localStorage in your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep order details only as long as needed to deliver the service and handle questions or a confirmed factual correction. Receipts and accounting records are kept for the period the law requires.
Access and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information. Reply to any message you received from us, or write to us using the contact details at the bottom of the home page. We'll delete it within a reasonable time, except what the law requires us to keep, such as receipts.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
